Are All Joint Venture Giveaway Events An Effective Way To Build My List Fast?

A JV giveaway event is a site created by online marketers who get together to utilize their lists to help grow the lists of all the participants involved. By taking part in such an event each participant has the potential to increase the size of their own subscriber list by using the total power of all the other list builders who are taking part.
The way it works is every single member of the JV giveaway contribute one or more gifts along with their squeeze pages that they will utilize to collect new sign-ups. They then agree to email their list on launch day advertising the giveaway event and all the free products being given away by other members.
Are JV giveaway events really a reasonable way to create a list quickly? The answer to this question is: it depends on the situation. If you are administering your own JV giveaway than it without doubt is.
Even if you are unpracticed and the event is not so well run, you will expand your list by 100's if not 1000's of subscribers. Successful events may add to your opt-in list many 1000's of new subscribers but you will have to really be good at it and have a reputation that attracts people. You will benefit greatly if you could find yourself a experienced partner to manage the event together.If you are signing up for someone else to event as a contributor than you will grow your opt-in list.
Will it be dramatic growth? Again - it depends on the situation. If this is a well known event (running at the same time of the year for several years) and if you do good work with your submission (more on that later) then you can see 100's of new members on your list. However, most of the JV giveaways I've seen are either conducted by inexperienced people or are run by "professional" event managers on behalf of others. Sadly, many of those are not so well run and the results for participants are not as good as one could hope for.
